Service and Volunteerism

Service.

We believe that students can and will give back to their community. We infuse service into the student life, from opportunities to serve within the school to opportunities to serve outside the walls of St. HOPE Leadership Academy. Students, at St. HOPE Leadership Academy, will serve both within their school community and outside their school community. For example, our students have exemplified service by pitching in at Central Park, restoring a neighborhood park, assisting and baking cookies with elderly citizens, donating food and canned goods to a local soup kitchen, and raising money for relief efforts in Haiti. Students have also exemplified service within the school community by assisting teachers, distributing school snacks, cleaning the cafeteria, setting up for our weekly assembly, and organizing classroom libraries. We hope that, in addition to achieving 40 hours of service each school year, students will have the tools and desire to give back to their community upon their graduation from St. HOPE Leadership Academy.
