Your middle schooler’s environment will shape the individual they become.
At St HOPE Leadership Academy, we partner with families to build student character, provide a safe learning environment, and grow the next generation of leaders. We are middle school experts and only focus on grades 6-8 at our charter school campus in Harlem. What sets us apart from other public middle schools in New York City? We emphasize high school and college readiness, starting in 6th grade. And we don’t just care about how your child is going to perform on a test — we want to help them realize their goals and understand what’s possible, then give them the tools they need to build the life they want.

The whole staff makes me feel like family. I am never left out of anything; and, they include me in everything. I would recommend this school to any parent because they would really love this experience, too. She was very shy before she came here; but, this school has encouraged her and pushed her to be driven.
Wincie, St HOPE Parent
I do appreciate all of the follow up, all of the phone calls. It is a great feeling that the teachers all know who I am. And they truly seem to all genuinely care. I do like this school very much.
Nicole, St HOPE Parent
St HOPE has gone above and beyond my expectations. They see my daughter and they recognize her potential.
Rosa, St HOPE Parent
My daughter wasn’t loving school so much prior to coming here. And now, she’s loving school again. She has a good relationship with her teachers, which encourages her to do her best and feel motivated to come to school. I have seen a big change in her, you can tell St HOPE leads with love.
Latoya, St HOPE Parent
He wasn’t happy at school prior to coming here. And, the feedback we’ve been getting from him has been really good. I am able to have nice conversations with his teachers; and, I feel very reassured based on the feedback from his teachers.
Mohamed, St HOPE Parent
The teachers are so nice to my daughter. I feel very respected in my conversations with her teachers, as well. I feel very happy because my daughter is working so hard, and the teachers are helping her reach her potential. If St HOPE had a high school, I would definitely keep her here! The education is just fantastic here. And we see that same motivation she has at school at home, too.
Jeanmarie, St HOPE parent
The teachers are fun because they understand the kids and are always willing to hear us out. There’s also a lot of opportunities here to have fun with all of the after-school clubs!
Sheyla, 7th Grader
I was able to do activities outside of school, like doing activities with Harlem Grown. I really enjoyed learning about planting and making food that’s healthy. I felt the teachers helped me academically because they helped me feel motivated to push myself. I also feel really supported as an alum to apply for our H.A.R.L.E.M. Scholarship, too.
