To ensure every St HOPE scholar graduates ready for a life of learning and service, we are seeking an English Language Arts teacher who has multiple years of teaching experience. The focus will be on Achieve3000, known at St HOPE as A3K. It is a computer-based nonfiction reading program designed to accelerate student reading growth. A3K custom tailors articles according to student Lexile level, offering articles on a variety of topics and interests. Through one-on-one conferences, goal setting, progress monitoring, and building an intrinsic love of reading, St HOPE consistently outperforms schools across the nation in A3K reading growth. St HOPE’s A3K teachers are an integral part of the ELA department, where we collaborate as a team to create a solid literacy community for our scholars to thrive.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all lesson plans, assignments, assessments, and other instructional materials and methods of teaching in your classroom
• Collect, report, and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data about students and refine lesson plans accordingly
• Support a school culture of high academic standards and behavioral standards grounded in restorative practices, with the aim of creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• NYS teaching certification or eligibility to be certified
• Special Education certification highly preferred
• Love of literature, knowledge of YA books, and a passion for reading and writing
• Ability to work as part of a high performing team, including exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Desire to work in an urban middle school, experience in NYC or other urban setting preferred
• Demonstrated belief that all children deserve an excellent education

Salary:
• Competitive and commensurate with experience, with starting offers up to 15% above DOE salary.

We are seeking a Science teacher who is passionate about their students and content.

• Responsible for all lesson plans, assignments, assessments, and other instructional materials and methods of teaching in your classroom

• Support a school culture of high academic standards and behavioral standards grounded in restorative practices, with the aim of creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.
• You will be responsible for teaching virtually and in-person.

Qualifications:
• Discipline specific Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education preferred
• NYS teaching certification or eligibility to be certified
• Special Education certification is a plus
• Ability to work as part of a high performing team, including exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Desire to work in an urban middle school, experience in NYC preferred
• Demonstrated belief that all children deserve an excellent education
